Mortal Kombat X Raiden analysis

We have a treat for Mortal Kombat fans now, as NetherRealm Studios has showed off some more of the game. Specifically a Raiden insight showing his different fighting variations as we build-up to GamesCom 2014 when even more Mortal Kombat X characters will be revealed.

As we expected, the developers are revealing new Mortal Kombat X fighters at a gradual stage and Raiden is the latest one to be officially announced.

We can also see that Kano is on the way and he should be revealed officially during GamesCom this month. Mortal Kombat X will feature different fighting mechanics than MK9, largely in the form of three variations or fighting style for each character.

We’ve already told you about this here with regards to the different forms of Scorpion, but now NetherRealm Studios have given us an insight into how Raiden can use his different modes to great effect.

Being the thunder god, you’ll be unsurprised to see that one of his modes is called Master of Storms which adds different static traps into his move set. You can set these traps up during play and if your opponent steps into one of them, you can prepare for a massive combo.

There’s no danger of Raiden being overlooked in Mortal Kombat despite his aging appearance, his moves look really sharp and he may become a fan favorite when the game ships next year.

Take a look at the clip below and let us know ‘who’s next’ in terms of the next character reveal for the game.
