Mortal Kombat X Full roster anxiety on PS4, Xbox One

Since the reveal of Quan Chi as the latest Mortal Kombat X roster announcement, fans haven’t had much else to talk about for the upcoming game. We won’t see the game until 2015 and creator Ed Boon is keeping completely silent on the inevitable questions on which other characters are going to make the Mortal Kombat X final character list.

Not every Mortal Kombat character from the entire series is going to make it into the game after all, meaning that every selection is vital. We’ve told you in the past that there are 24 slots available at the moment, not including those that will enter the action as DLC characters.

NetherRealm Studios have already revealed that Goro is going to be one of the first Mortal Kombat X DLC characters – which players will be able to obtain simply by pre-ordering the game.

That means we are possibly looking that a roster that includes around 40 characters, if for example you count 24 base characters in the game and the likelihood of 16 DLC characters.

16 may sound adventurous, but let’s not forget that we are dealing with the first Mortal Kombat game to hit next-gen hardware so this is a massive upgrade from Mortal Kombat 9 – a game that introduced many DLC characters such as Freddy Krueger, Kenshi, Rain and Scarlet.

Put it this way, if there isn’t a large amount of characters in the game compared to Mortal Kombat 9, then fans may ask questions on what the next-gen hardware is for and if Mortal Kombat X is really pushing the tech to its limits.

We fully expect NetherRealm to produce the goods though, as nobody cannot argue against the fact that the Mortal Kombat reboot was an amazing game and a great return to the big time after the classic MK2 and MK3 heyday.

Are you starting to get a little anxious though as to who is going to be chosen as the next reveal? We want to see Cyrax in the game, as well as Human Smoke so hopefully NetherRealm deliver on this.

Who do you want to see next and what are your predictions on the final roster count – is 40 too ambitious or a good target number?
