Mortal Kombat secrets: Infinite money cheat for Xbox 360, PS3

If you own a copy of Mortal Kombat on either the Xbox 360 or PS3 and are wondering what the best way to obtain gold coins are, we have a naughty little secret that you may want to listen to.

We’ve discovered that there is a way to get infinite coins / money during the challenge tower missions, and it all depends on whether or not you have enough patience, since the method can become a bit tiresome.

When playing through the levels where you have to simply beat your opponent as hard as you can to get as many coins in the time possible, you can actually pause the game and simply restart. Once you do this, you’ll find that your increased coin count actually stays the same so you can repeat the process as many times as you want to rack up the coins.

This method also works for the ‘throw the grendades into the bucket’ minigame, and other similar coin games. However, we’ve found it doesnt work on all of these types of stages, so it’s best to try it out for yourself and see if it works for you.

As most of you who have the game will know, a lot of coins are needed to unlock all of the content from the Krypt, whether it’s artwork, alternate costumes or 2nd fatalities for each character. This little trick should help you on your way to unlocking all of the goodies in the shortest time possible.

Did you already know about this trick? If you have discovered any other secrets in the game, let us know below. We’re pretty surprised that such a simple bug hasn’t been patched up by NetherRealm Studios yet, as we doubt they intended gamers to rack up coins this way.

Have fun beating three Shao Kahns with Stryker as well on the challenge tower, that one is a little bit tricky with one life bar to say the least. Let us know if the coin trick works for you.
