Mortal Kombat 2011: DLC / Patch On Way – Arriving Soon

We have some rather exciting news now for all you Mortal Kombat fans out there, as the game’s creator Ed Boon has recently revealed that there is new DLC and a patch for the hugely popular fighting game on its way. Although there’s been no confirmed release date, we do know that it’s arriving soon.

When asked for a timeframe for the upcoming DLC, Boon told G4TV that it would be released ‘in the next few weeks.’ As Stephany Nunneley over on the vg247.com website recently noted, Boon also announced that the DLC would contain a patch that will add balance changes to the game.

Besides the patch, the upcoming DLC also contains some free stuff and the Skarlett playable character. Skarlett was actually added to Mortal Kombat following a glitch in a previous game, which would turn Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile and some of the female characters red.

The character was eventually released in the Mortal Kombat 3 game, but as she was left unnamed, the community decided to call her Skarlett. There had been previous reports that Skarlett would be appearing in the Mortal Kombat 9 game, but she wasn’t officially announced until March 27th.
