Monitor the Florida Marlins with baseball apps on iPhone & iPad

View all the current news concerning your team and monitor the Florida Marlins with baseball apps on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The Florida Marlins are a professional baseball team based in Miami, Florida. Established in 1993 as an expansion franchise, the Marlins are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball’s National League. The Marlins play their home games at Sun Life Stadium. The Marlins name originates from the fish species, and from Miami’s former minor league team of the same name. The team is nicknamed “The Fish.”

The Marlins are notable for winning the World Series twice (1997, 2003), in the only two times they have made it to the postseason. They have never won first place in their division, advancing to the playoffs both times as the National League Wild Card winner. They are the only current North American major professional sports team to have won a championship every time (twice, in this case) they qualified for postseason play. In recent years, the Marlins ownership pushed for a new stadium and agreed to a plan with Miami-Dade County commissioners and the city of Miami to build a $515 million ballpark on the site where the Miami Orange Bowl once stood. As part of the deal, the Marlins will be known as the Miami Marlins starting on November 11, 2011. For supporters of the Florida Marlins we have come up with a few apps that could be of interest.
