Modern Warfare 3: Juggernaut gameplay preview, killstreak not perk

If you are buying Modern Warfare 3 on November 8th and are familiar with the infamous Juggernaut perk from previous Call of Duty games, we have an unmissable video for you to check out now. Juggernaut is making a return to Modern Warfare 3, but in an all-new format which looks fantastic we might add.

If you played previous games in the Call of Duty franchise, you’ll know that Juggernaut was mostly available in perk format, making the player survive longer than normal thanks to an increased health boost. This was altered slightly in Modern Warfare 2 as Juggernaut became known as the Painkiller Deathstreak, this time giving players increased health for 10 seconds after they respawn.

In Modern Warfare 3, Juggernaut will now appear in the game as a killstreak, rather than a perk. From what we have seen from released multiplayer footage, there will be two types of Juggernaut killstreaks. The first is an Assault Juggernaut killstreak requiring 15 kills in a row, allowing players increased health and the ability to use a weapon whilst in Juggernaut mode.

The second Juggernaut killstreak is the Juggernaut Support killstreak and it’s one which we have seen a lot more of in-game compared to the Assault based one. The support Juggernaut requires a 18 point count streak, but unlike the Assault one, you can accumulate these points both with kills and objectives and it doesn’t reset when you die. Once you do achieve this in-game, you’ll receive an airdrop and you’ll be rewarded with a riot shield and increased life for you to charge the opposing team with your squad members. You’ll also get an instant radar as well so you can see where the enemy team is located on the map.

This is an interesting idea and one which Modern Warfare fans will enjoy using, as unlike the previous perk form of Juggernaut which was largely a very frustrating experience overall, this riot shield support Juggernaut has its tactical benefits as the team can now use the person with the riot shield as they try to storm a particular area of the map to gain the upper hand.

A clever move by Infinity Ward to keep Juggernaut in the game we feel, watch the included gameplay video of it in action below and let us know what you think of it. Are you looking forward to using this new version of Juggernaut in the game or do you still think it is not needed at all? We look forward to your feedback on this one.
