Mob of the Dead Zombies perks include Electric Cherry

We have some more early Mob of the Dead zombies information for you now, as part of the Xbox Live preview that is available before the Uprising DLC pack lands on April 16 for Black Ops 2. Earlier this week we showed you some fantastic Mob of the Dead gameplay from the new map, but now we have the first details on one of the brand new perks that will be coming to the game.

As always before the arrival of a new zombies map, interest and hype goes through the roof as fans want to know what new features Treyarch are adding to zombies to keep it fresh, whilst at the same time implementing new gameplay techniques so it isn’t just the same formula each time.

In Die Rise we had zip lines and a vertical-based format of gameplay which was a first for any zombies map. Now with Mob of the Dead, Treyarch is bringing back the celebrity format from Call of the Dead and have recreated the famous Alcatraz prison, inserting none other than a playable cast such as Michael Madsen, Joe Pantoliano, Ray Liotta and Chazz Palminteri.

On to our main topic though, as we can now confirm one new perks as the Electric Cherry. This is a new perk machine available in bottle format, which players can buy for 2000 points. When a player consumes the Electric Cherry, they will emit a lightning shock around their body, whenever they reload their weapon.

Doing this will harm any zombies that come into close contact with the player, although we’re unsure as to how much damage it will actually do. We’re guessing it will start off as one-hit kills with the shock, then decrease in power as you progress through the waves of difficulty.

For those that are interested, we can also confirm that the Juggernog and the Speed Cola perks will be available in Mob of the Dead and will continue to function the same as normal. Electric Cherry certainly sounds interesting though, and could be a game changer if it provides adequate protection like one hit kills for a while.

A team setup with four Electric Cherry perks is obviously going to last a lot longer than a team without. How easy will the perk machine be to access though? If you enjoyed this, let us know your initial thoughts on the new Electric Cherry perk.
