The Mini Cooper Convertible is expected to get its launch in India tomorrow, and is to be based on the new UKL platform. This has not been made official just yet, but we have heard rumors that this is in fact the case, and so we do not have long to find out if this is in fact true or not.
As for the Mini Cooper Convertible price in India, this is expected to start from INR 35 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom), and could go up to INR 40 Lakhs depending on what model you go for.
We are not sure if there will be any changes from the UK version compared to the one set to be launched in India, although we do know they are more relaxed on some features, such as airbags. However, we cannot see BMW relaxing too much when it comes to the safety aspect.
What can drivers in India expect when they own one of these new Mini Cooper Convertibles? First is that roof that can go up or down in just 18 seconds, and can even be used while traveling up to 30KPH. The size has been increased over the previous model to give more room in the cabin, but not a great deal to be honest.
As for those engine options, you have the choice of a 1.5-litre three cylinder petrol unit pumping out 135 horsepower, and a 1.5-litre three cylinder diesel engine that produces 125HP.
More details will be shared as they come in tomorrow – if BMW do actually launch the new Mini Cooper Convertible on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
