Minecraft PS4 disc release date, PS Vita delay

We have good news for those of you who are looking out for Minecraft PS4 Edition, but would rather opt for a disc version instead of digital. We now have a confirmed Minecraft PS4 disc release date to share, with 4J Studios revealing that gamers will be able to pick up the game in shops next month.

Unfortunately though at the same time, it looks like those who are waiting for the Minecraft PS Vita Edition release date may be waiting a while longer. As most of you will know, the PS Vita version is the last edition of the game that has yet to release on a major platform.

The PS4 disc version is going to be out on October 3 in Europe and October 7 in America. The big issue with the PS Vita not being released yet, is that Mojang is now owned by Microsoft of course and there has been suggestions that it could cause further problems with regards to Microsoft agreeing to release Minecraft on a now rival platform.

Phil Spencer however thinks the game will still be available, but offered no timeframe on when this would happen. We are due to receive ‘news’ on the status of Minecraft PS Vita in the coming weeks, so hopefully things will be a lot clearer then.

Right now though, digital versions are available to buy on both PS4 and Xbox One and worlds created in PS3 and Xbox 360 are fully transferrable.

Let us know if you will be picking up a disc version, or if you are specifically waiting for the PS Vita copy. Do you think there will be a big delay now that Microsoft is running the show?
