A couple of weeks ago we provided our readers with a few details on the 1.4 patch for Mojang’s hugely popular sandbox building indie title, Minecraft. Well now it appears that the game’s creator Marcus “Notch” Persson has recently announced another major update.
According to a recent computerandvideogames.com article by Mike Jackson, the beta 1.5 update should be arriving at some point next week. A new trailer has also surfaced online recently, which reveals some of the new features that fans can expect in the 1.5 update.
This includes new weather effects such as rain and snow. Speaking about the upcoming beta update, Persson said that the game will now feature periodic downfall — snow in the snowy areas and rain in other areas. The snow will cover the ground when it’s snowing, and ice will grow back in cold areas.
He then went on to say that there will even be thunderstorms with lightning during the snow and rain. The new video also gives fans a brief glimpse at the new achievements and stats screens. If you hadn’t already heard, the final Minecraft game will be released in November this year.
Are you looking forward to the final game’s release? What do you think about the upcoming 1.5 update?
