Minecraft 1.6 update arriving Wednesday: list of changes

If you’re a fan of the hugely popular Minecraft game, the chances are you already know that the much-anticipated 1.6 update is arriving tomorrow (Wednesday). What you probably don’t know however is what exactly is included in the upcoming Minecraft update.

That’s where we can help you, as a recent article by Josh Lumley over on the website has provided a full list of changes that can be found within the 1.6 update. The list includes a considerable amount of bug fixes, as well as a couple of noteworthy additions.

For example, the Minecraft 1.6 update has added craftable maps, tall grass in some biomes and hatches to the game. Players will also find that Nether is now supported in multiplayer, and it will no longer be possible to build solid blocks on the top layer of the maps.

The upcoming update has also severely nerfed the fire so it now spreads slower and doesn’t spread infinitely. After downloading the 1.6 update, gamers should discover that the record player now supports over 15 different songs and the doors make sounds for other players in multiplayer.

As mentioned above, the new update contains a large amount of bug fixes including one to fix the issue in which the achievements screen would muck up the sky color and one to fix the bug where players could mine without swinging their arm.
