Microsoft tablet and Xbox 720

The biggest Microsoft news today involves a tablet but what about tomorrow when the Xbox 720 gets a release date? Could we see the tablet controller rumors in another light when we consider a Microsoft tablet into the mix. The Xbox 720 could integrate much deeper with the new Microsoft tablet, which should be revealed today running Windows 8, and while the Xbox 360 is likely to stream content to the new tablet we could see integration on a hardware level next generation.

The massive Xbox 720 leak we heard about over the weekend revealed a lot of information for the Next Xbox, and while this is just a rumor based on a leaked document it did provide some insight into what could be for the Xbox 720 controller. The Wii U showed the world a new tablet type controller and met joy and disappointment, but it looks like Xbox could go the same way according to the leaked report, which states the next machine will work with a HD tablet computing device.

Now does this mean the Xbox 720 will get a tablet-computing device or will it support one on a hardware level, which could be Microsoft’s new Windows 8 tablet? When leaked documents and rumors don’t add up it can be that they are taken the wrong way, and this could be the same for Microsoft’s plans with the next Xbox, rumored to release late 2013, and their Windows 8 tablet’s that should launch this year.

It’s also the opinion of some analysts that Microsoft need to lose the office/business image before it can take on Apple’s iPad, and one way they could do this is by tapping into the Xbox Live success. There has been well over 60 million Xbox 360s sold over the years making it one of the most popular games consoles ever, and this is certainly a source for Microsoft to use, which is what we expect to see today at the press event.

We expect some interesting developments over the next 12 months when it comes to Microsoft’s tablet and Xbox 360 users, which should see the groundwork laid for something truly special next generation. This is something Microsoft needs desperately considering the iPad success with many companies integrating deeply with Apple’s tablet, and apps for almost anything.
