Microsoft Surface release date coincides with Windows 8

We have some great news for those of you who are interested in picking up Microsoft’s impressive looking new Surface tablet. The company were previously reluctant to give a solid release date for when their new device would be out, but now we’re pleased to say that they have now given fans the all-important date.

As some of you were expecting, it turns out that the Microsoft Surface tablet is going to be available to buy on the exact day that the company’s new operating system Windows 8 goes live as well. The date to remember is October 26 and it now means you can preview Microsoft’s new OS on their very latest hardware product.

The news was revealed during Microsoft’s latest annual report and you can check out the full details from the company through this website here. Now that we have the release date set for the Surface, the only thing left to settle is price. Microsoft hasn’t put a price tag on the Surface yet, but consumers definitely won’t want to pay more than $600 for one and especially nowhere near the exaggerated $1000 mark that we’ve seen paraded around online recently.

You can bet that Microsoft will be under extra pressure too, now that the Nexus 7 is available for a bargain $199 price along with the unbreakable Amazon Kindle Fire. Sure enough that new keyboard material is impressive on the Surface, but consumers are now starting to wise up when it comes to overpaying for fancy new smartphones and tablets.

Is the Surface on your radar at the moment, or is it all about the Nexus 7 and inevitable ‘Mini’ iPad? Don’t forget about the 10.1 Galaxy Note too which is going to be very popular we feel.
