Following the news about Micromax’s Canvas Fire A104 phone, we noticed some of their tablets and this led us to wondering what the differences were between the Micromax P650 Canvas tablet vs. P650E for both price and specs. There are a lot of differences, all of which will allow you to decide which is best for you.

Both tablets have proved so popular that availability is rather low in India, although we do expect production to be ramped up because of this. Anyway, that’s not what you are here for, what you really want to know is, which of the two tablets is best for you, and if it is worth stretching your budget.

Lets first look at how the Micromax P650 Canvas tablet compares to the P650E in terms of specs. When detailing the features we will always do it in the same order, and so the P650 first and the P650E after. Screen size is an 8-inch IPS LCD compared to a 7-inch TFT Capacitive and both have 16 million colors.

As for the camera, you get a 5-megapixel rear-facing shooter compared to a 2-megapixel one, and both have front-facing cameras. However, the former does have 720p video recording, whereas the latter does not. As for RAM, you have 1GB compared to 512MB and a 1.2 GHz MT8389, Quad-Core processor against a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8625, Dual-Core.

Finally, there is storage, as you have 16GB built-in compared to 4GB, although both do support up to 32GB of microSD storage.

Now it all comes down to one thing, cost. The Micromax P650 Canvas tablet has a price of Rs. 13,849, and the P650E Canvas Tab costs Rs. 8,699. Now you will be able to see if those additional features justify the extra cost.
