Mercedes-Benz pickup trim levels revealed

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz pickup is one of those models that will either be loved or hated, and maybe that is a reason why it will not be released in the US. Having said that, if it proves popular in Australia, Europe and Latin America, then that could be up for discussion later down the line. While details of this pickup truck is scarce, a few bits of information has been given to us.

However, most of what we know is based on pure speculation from CarAdvice, where they believe they have come across what could be the possible Mercedes GLT pickup trim levels. There is said to be the base model, which is more for contractors, and so comes with none of those frills you would expect to see. A 2.3-liter four-cylinder diesel looks to be the engine of choice with this model, and an all-wheel drive system is an optional extra.

Next is the mid-range model and will use the same engine, but come with a host of options to make it less sparse. Finally, we have the top-of-the-line model and will come with a more refined six-cylinder diesel engine, and will produce more power as well.

As for the Mercedes-Benz pickup start price, this is expected to be 55,000 Australian dollars, and go up to 80,000.

We still have no clue as to what its name will be because GLT is now looking less likely, and so latest rumors suggest the Mercedes X-class or Z-class.

Do you think it is a mistake for Mercedes to not bring this pick-up truck to the US, or do you think the market is already saturated with these trucks?
