Sci-Fi fans and shoot ‘em up gamers prepare to be excited and get ready to put that famous suit on again, you know ‘the last suit you’ll ever wear’, as Activision has just announced there will be a new Men In Black game arriving that is likely to hit at least the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next year, giving gamers the chance to kick some alien-ass.
The game will be launched at the same time as the Men In Black III movie, which stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the secret government agents who specialize in extra-terrestrial activity and are ‘the first, last and only line of defense against the worst scum of the universe’, donning the black suits for a third time, and is due to hit the big screen in May 2012. As The Gadget Show explains, it will be a standalone original title.
The last MIB movie came out in 2002 meaning it will have been ten whole years since then when the new movie comes out next year. While it may seem like it’s been far too long for fans of the series, delaying a movie like this is actually a very clever marketing strategy as it means a fresh new generation of viewers will now be exposed to the next movie and it also gives those who may have been starting to get bored of them a break.
The game will have its own story and won’t be a movie tie-in despite launching at the same time. It will feature alien action and ‘light-hearted laughs’, much like the movies. From a screenshot that has also been revealed, we can see that it could be either a third-person shooter or first-person shooter game. What do you think? Are you looking forward to dressing in black and shooting some alien scum next year?
