Medal of Honor: Warning for PS3 Jailbreakers

We have some important news for those of you have jailbreaked your PS3, the new Medal of Honor game will require the latest firmware version to run, however you will probably be aware that this latest firmware update blocks the jailbreak.

According to a recent Engadget article, firmware version 3.50 will be needed to play the game, at first I wondered what this meant for those of you who do not have an Internet connection but the update has been put on the game’s disc.

To be honest with you this is a pretty clever way of dealing with piracy and I wouldn’t be surprised if this became common practice for all big titles, my only concern is that firmware updates have been known to brick consoles. We would appreciate your feedback on this matter, therefore feel free to answer the following questions in the comments section.

What do you think of this news? Do you think Sony are right to force firmware version 3.50 upon all Medal of Honor gamers?

yeah i think its hilarious how these articles keep coming out even after the game has been patched and can be run on any jailbroken ps3…

crap games have been comming ouf for the PS3 since it's release, piracy probably won't be a problem simply because the titles on the PS3 aren't worth the effort

What about those who want to retain their otherOS in version 3.15?

Sony told us we could keep otherOS (an original KEY SELLING FEATURE for the console), but would simply not be allowed on PSN, all other features would remain unchanged…

Now I have to chose between a linux machine in my living room, or being able to play ANY NEW GAMES, ONLINE _OR_ OFFLINE???

    Sony, you make me sick.

yh i think this is good. i dont want piracy to happen to all ps3 users because it is a loss on the gaming industry and that's how most companys turn crap and crap games start to come out.
