McLaren P1 GTR production numbers and possession unspecified

When asked what was the best supercar ever made, we bet a huge percentage of people would say the McLaren F1, and to show just how loved this vehicle is, racers are still using them in the form of the McLaren F1 GTR, although not so much now. The Woking company understands that they need to recapture that magic with racers, and so have now officially announced details of the P1 GTR.

The McLaren P1 GTR production will not begin until the 375th road going P1 has been produced, which we have no idea at this time when that will be. However, we can tell you that this will also be a limited run and will be an all-out model purely for racers.

According to McLaren, the P1 GTR will produce almost 1,000 horsepower and because it does not have to comply with road legislation, it will be developed to be the most extreme car they have ever built. This means the McLaren P1 GTR specs will rely heavily on parts for greater aerodynamics, downforce stopping power and pure power from its power plants.

McLaren P1 GTR production numbers

As for the McLaren P1 GTR price, this will be £1.98 million, which is a serious amount of money, so wonder if Jenson Button will be offered one for free, or at a discount?

There is still some confusion as to the McLaren P1 GTR possession, as the company has yet to say if they will look after the model for you like Ferrari does with the Enzo-based FXX. However, we have a strong feeling they will have to come up with a similar program, seeing as though this will not be allowed to go on the road, only on racetracks.
