McLaren 540C Coupe available to pre-order

McLaren has finally announced the official price of its entry-level sports car, the 540C, and as expected starts at £126,000. When we say entry-level, the car is still capable of some amazing performance, as it can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 199mph.

The McLaren 540C Coupe is said to already be available to pre-order from the dedicated global McLaren retail network, which is in over 30 different countries. We are just waiting for it to go live on the McLaren website, along with its customization options.

Deliveries for the McLaren 540C Coupe will begin next year, although no specific date has been given. However, we are sure pre-order numbers will be rather impressive because of the price and performance figures when pitted against the Audi R8 V10, Mercedes AMG-GT S and also the Porsche 911 Turbo.

It’s not just the engine that allows the 540C to perform well, as it’s always more than the power. McLaren are masters of aerodynamics, and its all-new aerodynamic package allows the car to move through the air with as little resistance as it can, while also managing to create a decent amount of downforce in order to improve handling around the twisty stuff.

Some may say that McLaren 540C styling is too clinical and so can come over as a little boring, but we don’t believe this to be the case. McLaren has always had the philosophy that less is more and does not fall into the trap of overdoing it in terms of unnecessary add-ons, like we have seen from other exotic sports/supercar makers.
