Mavericks has various problems, including mail

Having got over the excitement that Mac OS X Mavericks was free we now have to get back to reality and look forward to testing out some of its new features, which we will do at a later date. The reason we are holding off on our own review of the new operating system from Apple is because some users have started to find a few issues.

This is nothing new, but knowing Mavericks has various problems will not only give users something to complain about, but also allow the likes of Microsoft to offer their two cents worth as well — although it is not like Windows 8.1 has been without its fair share of issues.

A quick browse on Apple Discussions shows several issues with Mavericks, such as problems with mail, excessive fan speeds and issues with getting on the App Store.

After installing Mavericks some users have noticed that the fan runs continuously, although we find it hard to believe that one guy says his “fan still works while his Mac is in sleep or turned off”. It seems impossible for this to happen. Going back to the fan working harder than what it should, this does not seem to be a widespread issue with Mavericks, so we suggest an SMC reset.

Other issues that does concern us since the Mavericks update it how some people are complaining that the App Store, iTunes Store and iCloud services are not working correctly. They are unable to connect and get the message ID and password in Mavericks.
There have also been reports of Mavericks problems with Mail, Maps and Contacts opening. However, there is a possible fix for this here.

These are just a few issues, but we have also noticed WordPress issues after updating to Safari 7.0, which happens the moment you update to OS X Mavericks. Pages seem to be stretched and also images not appearing how they should.

Have you experienced any of these problems, or have you come across any other issues?
