Johnson Health Tech has issued a recall for five Matrix Fitness Strength Training Machines, as there is a risk of impact injury, along with possible Laceration and fall hazards. The models affected are the VY-6021 Lat Pulldown, VY-6099 Total Body Trainer, VY-6046 Lat Pulldown/Low Row, VY-6042 Bicep/Triceps Press and finally the J7021 Special Order Lat Pull.
These machines either have chrome frames, thigh supports, stacked weights, black or blue vinyl seats and overhead pulleys. You will need to check the model number on your machine to see if you have an affected ones. You can find this at the base of the machine, where you will find a white sticker.
We highly doubt you have one of these in your home seeing as though they are used more in commercial fitness facilities, which include hotels, health clubs, rehabilitation centers, apartment complexes and schools.
Owners are asked to stop using these machines immediately, especially as Johnson Health Tech has learned that two people have been injured as a result. One man got hit on the head when the handle came away, while another fell after the handle became detached.
Machines affected were sold from July 2013 to October 2014. For more details we ask that you head over to the CPSC website.
