Mass Effect 3: Developer teases possible demo

A lot of Mass Effect fans were left feeling rather disappointed at the beginning of last month, when they discovered that they would actually have to wait until March 6th, 2012 for the much-anticipated Mass Effect 3 game to arrive in stores worldwide. However, it looks as though there is a bit of good news on the horizon, as there could well be a demo on the way.

While responding to a fan’s tweet on Twitter recently, the game’s director Casey Hudson briefly hinted that there could well be more news arriving in the coming months regarding a Mass Effect 3 demo. However, as Anthony Taormina from notes, since Twitter only allows up to 140 characters, Hudson unfortunately didn’t add any more information.

There is also the question of where fans might be able to experience the Mass Effect 3 demo if one was to be released. With the Mass Effect 3 game being a multi-platform title (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows), a multi-platform demo release seems possible. Although we still have to take it with a pinch of salt at the moment, as a demo may not even happen.

If you’ve been following all the latest Mass Effect 3 news, you’ll know that there is another way that gamers can test out the game a few months before its release. As we mentioned in a previous article, BioWare’s upcoming action role-playing game will be one of the many playable games at this year’s Eurogamer Expo, which is due to take place at Earls Court starting on September 22nd.

The Mass Effect 3 game follows the events of Mass Effect 2’s ‘Arrival’ DLC, and will be influenced by decisions from the previous 2 titles. The locations found in the Mass Effect 3 game include the Asari homeworld Thessia and the Salarian homeworld of Sur’Kesh. The game will also see the return of characters such as Garrus Vakarian, Legion and Captain Anderson.

Not only will there be a Standard Edition and a special N7 Collector’s Edition of the Mass Effect 3 game, but there has also been an announcement of a ‘Digital Deluxe Edition,’ which according to Joe Martin over at is exclusive to Electronic Arts’ Origin digital distribution platform. The Digital Deluxe Edition has been priced up at £54.99.

You can read more about the Digital Deluxe Edition over on the website. Are you hoping that BioWare releases a demo for the Mass Effect 3 game?
