Maruti Celerio diesel DDiS 125 shipping to dealers

Following the news of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio ZXI automatic price in India of Rs 4.99 lakh, we also have details on its diesel variant. We are told that its name will be Maruti Celerio DDiS 125, and is to be the most fuel-efficient vehicle of its kind that is not a hybrid.

The good news is that Maruti Celerio diesel DDiS 125 has already started shipping to dealerships across India, ready for their eventual release date. You might wonder what is with the name DDiS 125; IndiaAutosBlog says that this denotes its power output of 125 Nm of torque.

Talking of power, this comes from a 0.8L diesel engine producing around 50 horsepower. This is not powerful by any means, but then again this vehicle is all about fuel-efficiency.

Some Maruti Celerio diesel specs and features — The first run will come with a 5-speed manual transmission, although there are plans for an automatic transmission later down the line. There will also be two air bags at the front, ABS, steering-mounted controls, alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, and so much more.

The diesel version of the Maruti Celerio is set to be launched next month and will go head-to-head with the Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat Diesel.
