Martha Graham: Google Inspiration

You may wonder why we would be talking about the famous choreography Martha Graham? Well it seems that she has received Google inspiration via an animated Doodle. The third Google Doodle of the month is certainly a good one, as you can see a dancer flowing from right to left and holding a pose to reveal the Google logo.

Although this Doodle is understated, it happens to be one of our favorites — we have to wonder how Google keeps coming up with greater designs? Graham would have been 117 today, and was considered a pioneer in her day. Ballet has changed because of her, as she managed to create an alternative, which is what is used today.

When you land on the Google homepage you will see five dancers in all, and the moves that they make to form the logo are actual ones that Graham invented herself in the 1920s and 1930s. Throughout her career she created over 180 works, and five of those will be seen by millions of visitors today. For more details on Martha Graham visit Wikipedia.

Google has been relentless in how many Doodles they have been creating, and a recent one for the 119th anniversary of Ice Cream was seen as a sign that they will be announcing their next Android mobile OS, and they did not disappoint, as that was just what they did yesterday during the Google I/O event.

Do you think that Google has done a good job with today’s Doodle?
