Marco Reus shocks world with FIFA 17 Cover

The waiting is over. Your votes have been counted and EA has now revealed that Dortmund’s Marco Reus is the official FIFA 17 global cover star, beating Anthony Martial, James Rodriguez and Eden Hazard in the process.

This is a massive surprise to everyone in the UK of course, but perhaps not those in Germany who view Reus as a major sporting icon – despite famously not being picked in the recent German Euro 2016 squad.

Nevertheless, you are going to get used to seeing Reus’ face wherever you go, for the next 12 months. His face is going to be plastered in every game shop, not to mention all households whenever you boot up FIFA 17 for a session on Ultimate Team.

Above is a sneak peek at Reus in-game model running on the Frostbite engine courtesy of EA, while another Tweet below is from the man himself who has spoken about how proud he is to replace Jordan Henderson as the face of FIFA.

Are you surprised that Reus has been chosen? On social media, there is inevitable talk about the voting being rigged, but it’s probably mostly sour grapes from those who wanted to see either Martial or Hazard.

Have your say on this below and tell us who you voted for.
