Magicka Developer wants Xbox 360 and PS3 Release

Since its release, Magicka has become an instant hit with RPG fans all over the gaming world. So much so, that even the developers did not envision the popularity it has gained which has lead to many talks regarding future DLC releases, and the possibility of the game being released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

With its impressive conception on the PC, the Arrowhead team behind the game have made it frequently known that they wish for Magicka to be made available to all gamers, which means expanding the release to other consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3.

According to Joystiq, who spoke with the Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt, they say that the console version is very much already in the works, and the only roadblock thus far comes down to Microsoft and Sony who are yet undecided on whether the game will come out on their respective consoles.

This is what Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt had to say when asked what the delay was down to: –

“We’re working on bringing Magicka to consoles — we are, really. The problem is that it’s not up to us. It’s up to Sony and Microsoft, really, but we’re working on getting it to consoles. That’s the way it should be played.”

Magicka, with impresive sales of over 200,000 copies since its release on January 25 costs just $9.99 from Steam, and is a bargin for any RPG enthusiast.
