Mad Max trailer lacks actual gameplay

After weeks of hype regarding the debut ‘gameplay’ trailer for Mad Max, we’re pleased to see that Warner Bros has finally released the first gameplay trailer as promised. Unfortunately though, those hoping to see pure gameplay are in for a disappointment, as there doesn’t appear to be any actual gameplay in sight.

We told you earlier this week that the makers for the game, Avalanche Studios were teasing the release of the trailer, by stating on Twitter that gameplay would be available in three days time. As you can imagine, this got everyone excited to see more of the game after the initial E3 teaser, but you may have been slightly let down by the end result.

The trailer is now available to view, but it’s largely made up of cutscene footage. While the action on screen looks great in our opinion, perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to place a big emphasis on ‘gameplay’ prior to the reveal. Now as a result, we see some negative reaction on the likes of YouTube and Twitter, with fans getting their hopes up for nothing.

Having said that, we fully expect Avalanche Studios to deliver a great game, after seeing what the team has managed with the popular Just Cause 2 games. We also didn’t hear a word from Max in the trailer, which is another big talking point regarding the voice actor change from American into one with an Australian accent.

Take a look for yourself and give us your initial impression of Mad Max. Were you expecting to see some gameplay from a ‘gameplay trailer’?
