Machinarium Point-and-Click Adventure Game Heading to PSN

If you already play Amanita Design’s Machinarium on the PC or Mac, you might be pleased to know that the game’s designer Jakub Dvorsky has recently announced that the popular puzzle point-and-click adventure game is heading to the PlayStation Network sometime later this year.

As Aaron Lee over at casualgaming.biz noted, Dvorsky — who is also the founder of Amanita Design — announced the news during a recent guest session at Nottingham Trent University. Besides announcing the game on PSN, Jakub also revealed that a tablet PC version will also become available.

However, the Apple iPad was surprisingly not the developer’s first choice of tablet. Instead, the company is exploring the much-anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook. When speaking about the upcoming PSN release, Jakub said that it is very difficult to port a game from PC to consoles.

One thing we do know and that is that the game will not be heading to the Xbox 360 anytime in the future. Dvorsky said that Microsoft weren’t interested in the Machinarium title for its popular gaming console, as the game had already been released for both the Mac and Windows.

You can view a trailer of the game below this post. Have you ever played the Machinarium game on the Mac or Windows? If so, are you pleased that it is heading to the PlayStation 3 and possibly the BlackBerry PlayBook?
