MacBook Pro with improved Haswell doubles graphics performance

We assumed that Apple would have released a MacBook Pro with the Haswell processor by now but we were shocked that Apple upgraded their MacBook Air with the new chip first. While some of you would have been disappointed with this decision, it may not be a bad thing after all, as there could be an upgraded version of the CPU heading our way.

The 2013 MacBook Pro with Haswell release date is still unknown, but it could be October, which we will get to in a moment. Whenever the new MacBook Pro is released this year there could be the possibility that it will come with a more powerful Haswell processor, which doubles the graphics performance.

A 2013 MacBook Pro with double the graphics performance would be thanks to a high-end Haswell chip, and according to Semi Accurate is said to only be available to Apple, which might not go down well with other vendors or their customers.

You’ll notice in the graph above that the ultra-high performance Haswell chip comes with GT3e (Iris Pro 5200), which is said to be their highest-end integrated graphics, and the results do look rather impressive.

2013 MacBook Pro with Haswell release expectations — Maybe the reason why Apple did not release a new MacBook Pro with Intel’s latest CPU is because they wanted to wait for this more powerful version, and so this could mean we may have to wait until October, which is worth the wait if you get improved graphics as suggested above.

The timing would make sense, as Apple would not release it alongside their new iPhone, and so would rather wait an extra month. That and the fact that some retailers have now started to offer discounts on MacBook Pros, which is usually a way to get rid of old stock in preparation for the newer model?
