MacBook Pro 2014 vs. 2013 for specs, price MIA

The 2014 MacBook Pro update is not yet live, but we have reason to believe we will see it made available as from tomorrow. It was only yesterday when details leaked of the minor refresh, and more details have come to light suggesting it is not a crazy rumor, but rather the real deal.

From what we can see the improvement is minor and as such we have to wonder if Apple has something else planned later this year, although this is following the same pattern as the MacBook Air, as that also had a small update earlier this year. Having said that, there are also rumors that would have us believe that a new Air is due, although this could either happen later this year or early in 2015 because of constraints with Broadwell production.

MacBook Pro 2014 vs. 2013 specs — Looking at the new (rumored) features the processor has seen a speed increase of 200MHz, so 2.0GHz, 2.3GHz, and 2.6GHz will now be bumped up to 2.2GHz, 2.5GHz and 2.8GHz.

The biggest improvement is to RAM, as this is expected to be increased to 16GB across the range, which should make life much simpler for those of you who demand a lot from your Pro. The final improvement as far as we can see from the source website is the standard MacBook Pro storage being increased to 1TB SSD.

Seeing as though Apple has yet to announce such an update, the price is MIA, although we have a feeling that there could be a small price drop just as there was for the new MacBook Air a few months ago.

If this is the real deal, then are you happy with the minor improvements and how much of a price reduction would you like to see?
