Mac Pro release date of November 23, 2013 a one-off

During the Apple event a few days ago we were treated to a few more Mac Pro details, such as specs and price. We could see from the many images and videos that it was to come in one color, and that was black. However, there is a new color coming and it will be available on November 23, 2013.

We have to inform you that this is just a one-off and so is not the official release date for the new Mac Pro, as it is being auctioned off for a charity event. Jony Ive and Marc Newson worked on this new color and is expected to reach a price of $40,000 – $60,000 at Sotheby’s New York.

There are no details as to whether this Apple Mac Pro will come with different specs compared to what we saw at Tuesday’s event, but it needs to be something special for that price.

As you will imagine there has been huge interest for a red 2013 Mac Pro, but people are not prepared to pay the price, but there is an alternative. It is the hope that once the Mac Pro is released you can send it off to ColorWare, where they will give it a color of your choosing. This would be a far better option, as it will only cost a few hundred dollars on top of the base price, which is $2999.

Even though one lucky person will get their hands on an all-new Mac Pro in November, the public release will follow shortly after, as Apple said its new desktop powerhouse will be in store and online in December, although they have yet to nail down a specific date.

If you had the choice, what color would you choose for your new 2013 Apple Mac Pro?
