Mac Pro accessory perfection with LaCie Christofle Sphere

The new LaCie Christofle Sphere storage device has generated a huge amount of attention because it defies the shape of the traditional external storage and takes an almost Apple approach. Consumers seem to love the bold shape, although its high price puts many people off.

Let’s get it out of the way first, and that is the LaCie Christofle Sphere price, which is a jaw-dropping $490. All you get for your money is 1TB of storage and a device that will look like a beautiful piece of art on your desk.

Before we take a look at the LaCie Christofle Sphere review video below, we would like to make one suggestion, and that is what kind of computer this would be a perfect partner for. We believe that the Christofle Sphere would be the perfect Mac Pro accessory, if you were considering adding a further $490 to your Mac Pro price, which is a huge sum of money to pay out so early in 2014.

Dong Ngo from CNET has spent a little time with the LaCie Christofle Sphere to share his own opinion and also makes a point that its price could be a bit of an issue and how easily the device shows fingerprints.

However, the Sphere is a fast and stunning looking device thanks to its silver-plated chassis, all of which are hand crafted.

A more thorough review of the LaCie Christofle Sphere can be found here, where the storage is put through a series of performance and software tests.

Do you think this is something you would buy because it’s clear that this device is more about its looks than anything else?
