Mac OS X Lion: Release Time rumored, UK download before US

If you are planning to pick up the latest edition of Apple Mac OS X Lion, most of you will be aware that the new software is heavily tipped to be coming within the next 24 hours. Well, if you are living in the UK and are waiting for Mac OS X Lion, we have some very exciting news for you.

We initially told you that Mac OS X Lion may be coming soon after surprise downtime for the iTunes Connect website, which is tied in to the Mac Apple Store where the upgrade to Lion will be available from.

Now we have learned that UK consumers may be first in line to get the upgrade to Lion before anyone else, and that the rumored release time is meant to be 1am, just hours away. The information has surfaced from SpeakApple who apparently have been tipped off by a close source within Apple that Mac OS X Lion is coming to the UK around 1am, and that the previous iTunes Connect downtime is a result of last minute Mac OS X Lion preparations.

Whatever the reason, it’s exciting news if the downtime is specifically linked to the supposed imminent release of Lion. We’ve just tried the Mac App Store now and it’s back online, so it remains to be seen if these rumors about a 1am release for UK consumers turns out to true. What about consumers in the US who are patiently waiting for Lion to come as well. How do you feel knowing that the UK may get the download before you? This doesn’t happen very often, so it’s could be cause for celebration as far as UK users are concerned.

We only have a few hours to go until this supposed 1am release time window occurs, so UK users have an anxious wait to see if the download for Lion appears or not. Considering that there is no solid information to go on, other than a ‘tipoff’ we advise consumers in the UK to take this information with a pinch of salt, as we’re just informing you what has been said.

How excited are you about the upcoming release of Mac OS X Lion? It’s fair to say that Snow Leopard is getting pretty dull now so this update couldn’t have come at a better time. Then of course, Apple will follow up the release of Lion with the highly anticipated download for iOS 5, as at the moment, the software is still in beta.

If you are currently waiting for Mac OS X in the UK and US, let us know your thoughts on these latest details. Has the download for Mac OS X Lion appeared for you yet?
