By now most of you Apple fans would have heard that there is an iPhone event next Tuesday. As you would imagine the rumor mill has kicked into overdrive now, such as the alleged missing iPhone 5 now having a huge affect on cases now appearing in China. We are not certain how much truth to this rumor, as it has not been proven that a fifth generation Apple smartphone has even been stolen.
The rumor suggests that the prototype of the iPhone 5 was stolen from Foxconn, and looking at the number of cases that appear on MIC Gadget, there will be a huge choice available on release of the handset. We can remember something happening very similar last year; security seems to have lapsed — if it is in fact true of course.
You can clearly see that when an iPhone 4 is placed inside the case it looks a little lost, showing that the new version is in fact larger. This would mean that all those rumors of a larger screen might have been true after all? Not only is the handset wider, but also it’s longer and thinner. We just don’t know how to take this, as it shows a teardrop design, which we reported many months ago. The reason we say this is due to the fact of the number of reports that this is still going to be a minor update — oh the dilemma.
The cases that are now showing up in China range from soft, hard and dual material, just showing how fast these manufacturers can work. We just hope that we will not have to hide the new device with one of those horrible bumpers? What we do find a little strange is how these cases are already on sale, which proves just how confidant these case vendors are.
With this in mind, one has to wonder if we are looking at the true design outline of the iPhone 5, as these case makers will not spend that kind of money on tooling if they were not confidant on the finished product?
