Lollipop vs KitKat for battery life and performance

Google Lollipop versus KitKat OS performance and battery life will be slightly different depending on the device being used, so whether you’re using a tablet or phone, each device will see varied advantages and disadvantages.

We have a couple of resources for Product Reviews today that deliver different perspectives for performance. The first can be seen within a video below, which takes a look at Android Lollipop 5.0 vs KitKat 4.4.4 and focuses on Nexus 5 performance. This is a slightly older video, but if you haven’t seen it then it comes recommended for those requiring information in regard to Nexus 5.

If you want to read more detailed performance comparisons and care little about watching devices side-by-side within a hands-on review, then you will love what GSM Arena offered in their review for 2015. Their article details Endurance, Video playback, Web browsing, and Talk time for a range of phones. These include the Nexus 5, LG G3, HTC One (M8), and Samsung Galaxy S5 running Lollipop Vs KitKat.

It’s interesting to see how KitKat still has an advantage with Nexus 5 and LG G3 endurance, also more Talk time on the Nexus 5 and HTC One (M8) running KitKat. You would expect to receive improved performance when upgrading to the newer Lollipop Android 5.0, although this won’t always be the case.

Leave a comment below if you have your own impressions taken from real life battery performance with the above phones? If you have something to add, then leave a comment, or see the full results on GSM Arena and watch the Nexus 5 video below.
