Live WWDC 2012 video stream MIA

Most Apple fans want brand new hardware more than anything else when Apple make some big announcements within the next couple of hours, but shouldn’t this be done with a live WWDC 2012 video stream rather than a collection of blogs writing the details for you to see in real-time?

It has happened before but Apple put a stop to live video at the World Wide Developer Conference some time ago, although we wonder if this would ever come back considering we’re in 2012 and most of us have super fast broadband connections more than enough for a nice high definition video stream for WWDC.

We did have a look for anything official from Apple recently or even a comment on this subject, but considering Apple’s stance on keeping quiet about events it was obvious that we’d come up empty. We did find a WWDC 2012 keynote video stream that claimed to be real, although after further investigation the USTREAM channel was obviously not real.

After asking our readers and looking at a few forums it seems that the desire for a live WWDC video stream is still there, and something Apple fans want really bad. One recent poll asked over 4000 people if they were happy with just blog streams for WWDC, or would they want a full video feed, and the results showed a whopping 99% wanted a live video stream although half were grateful for the service blogs are providing when reporting live from Apple’s keynote.

Would you have liked a live video stream for WWDC 2012? We’ve included a video below that recaps some of the latest rumors for the Apple event today, and you can see a collection of live blogs here.
