LG to showcase home theater systems at CES 2012

A growing number of people are turning to home theater systems to compliment their large screen HDTV. Many HDTVs have poor onboard speakers that don’t do those big movies justice on such a large screen, so either all-in-one systems, AV receivers, and sound bars are used. Today we have news that LG is to showcase some new home theater systems at CES 2012 in Las Vegas.

Consumers may want an all-in-one system because of space requirements and the fact all the components are available in one box. Although there are some great AV receiver bundles available from the likes of Onkyo these days as well.

Now LG has announced four new systems that will make their debut at the CES 2012 event next week. According to the press release these include the LG BH9420PW that will feature the company’s latest 3D sound technology. This promises to match the sound with the location and movement of the 3D images on the screen.

This is done by analyzing the depth of the objects displayed on the screen by a special algorithm, and according to LG it will “immerse and surround” users. This system offers 9.1 sound with some extra 3D speakers added to the traditional 5.1 setup.

There will also be Smart TV functionality that will offer LG’s 3D Zone content service, as well as 3D Blu-ray support. Currently there is no information on pricing or what countries can expect to receive the new hardware. The BH9420PW though is expected to hit stores this coming March, and we can expect to get more information at the CES event.
