We pretty much knew that LG was to launch the K8 and K5 handsets soon, and we can now tell you that they have finally been made official. While we do not have the specific release date just yet, we do know that the LG K8 and K5 price options will be announced later this week.
Before you get too excited, we have to inform you that the K8 will only be released to certain markets, such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America. Whereas the K5 will be made available to people in Europe, CIS and Latin America, and as for its release in Mexica, the K5 will be known as the LG Q6.
Now that you know most of the key markets for these two handsets, you know that they are not going to win any awards for their design or performance – although the K5 and K8 are more about affordability than anything else, along with offering the user something that’s capable of everyday tasks.
So what do these phones have to offer? – The LG K5 has a 5-inch screen with a poor 480 x 854 FWVGA resolution, and let’s not laugh too much at the MediaTek MT6735 SoC. As for RAM and storage, these are 1GB and 8GB respectively. There is a 5-megapixel camera to the rear, and a 2MP up front.
As for the LG K8, things are slightly better 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera in the rear and a 5MP front-facing camera. However, both these handsets will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed, which is a bonus.
