LG innovates with Optimus G

One of the most significant smartphones LG has ever developed has been teased on the official news feed, and this is the LG Optimus G, which will innovate with a battery that can live a lot longer and includes a gapless display panel. LG still kept most of the finer details under wraps, although it’s good to see them confirm the codename and information about the innovation behind the upcoming smartphone.

The LG Optimus G will include the best technology from their sister companies, and boasts the 1.5GHz S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, a thinner profile, and not only a phone that feels faster but also delivers increased battery life. The extra juice comes thanks to innovation from LG Chem, and the battery had been designed from the ground up to deliver a 60 percent longer lifespan when compared to similar sized batteries found in other smartphones.

LG Display also innovated to bring their latest technology to the Optimus G, and this means a True HD IPS+ Display that doesn’t need as much power, which in fact can deliver 70 percent less power consumption while creating 470 nits of brightness. If you’ve experienced screen burn problems in the past from AMOLED displays, then you’ll be glad to know this won’t be an issue with the new IPS+ display.

The G2 Touch Hybrid Display is certainly the focus of discussion with LG fans, and the majority of people are commenting on the resolution that is unusually set at 1280×768, which some people feel this might be a 1366×768 panel with the other pixels being used for the buttons at the bottom. The issue with this is trying to understand why LG would want to under-state the Optimus G specs?

Are you looking forward to the LG Optimus G, and what should be something special thanks to a close partnership between LG’s sister companies? The CEO of LG Electronics recently said that the real difference with this smartphone project has been the control gained by their sister companies working closely together. Keep connected to PR for the full specs and release date when they’re revealed.
