LG G Pad 8.3 gains Korea launch date

The new LG G Pad 8.3 is set to arrive on the 14th October with another 30 countries expecting this by the end of the year, and with the growing tablet industry this LG slab is looking to make its mark. According to reports LG has announced plans to commence mass production of a plastic-based flexible display and with everything going to plan this could be expected in an LG branded device by November.

While Android Authority report on this they also discuss more news coming from the Korean firm that their new G Pad 8.3 tablet will go on the shelves in Korea this month. Many potential consumers will be looking out for this new product as this is LG’s first tablet since the not so well received G Slate.

We are also under the impression this G Pad 8.3 tablet will feature new “Q Pair” function, as this is said to an easy way to sync memos, alerts and notifications with the use of your Android 4.1+ phone. As far as the specs are concerned, this tablet will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU with 2GB of RAM, and will involve a 1920 x 1200 8.3-inch display, along with 16GB storage, a microSD, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front cam.

In addition, the new device will also come equipped with a 4,600 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. While the price in Korea is stated at about 550,000 won, which translates to around $515, we are unsure whether this tablet will be such a high in price once it comes to other markets.

Rumours suggest the G Pad 8.3 may end up somewhere around the $300 mark, which is pretty reasonable considering the specs and hardware contained, although we are yet to hear details about specific territories that will see the release of LG’s new tablet, even though they have revealed plans to make this available in at least 30 additional countries by 2014.

Will you be holding out for the arrival of LG’s G Pad 8.3 tablet? Or are you a bit apprehensive after the ill-fated G Slate?
