LG 50-inch 50UH5530 4K TV review for PS4 Pro, Xbox One S

One of the highly anticipated LG 4K TVs to buy this year is undoubtedly the LG 50-inch 50UH5530 4k LED Smart Ultra HD TV, one of Best Buy’s new models which the retailer will offer starting from November 2016 during the busy shopping period.

We know that many of you are frantically hunting for the best HDR TV to buy specifically for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S consoles and you’ll be pleased to know that the LG 50-inch 50UH5530 does support a version of HDR with HDR Pro.

The 3 included HDMI ports also have 3 HDCP 2.2 support as well, although the jury is still out on whether this is a true HDR experience for gamers.

By this we’re talking about the fact that LG’s premium 4K TV models with the ‘Super’ branding cost over $1000 and one example is the LG 55UH8500 which advertises ‘Super HDR’ with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support.

That means the LG 50UH5530 priced at $400 at Best Buy may not be the future proof HDR TV that you need in terms gaming on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S, obviously also Project Scorpio when it is available next year.

Despite that though, it’s still an amazing TV and especially if you manage to pick it up for that price above during the sales.

Other LG 50UH5530 specs include 4K upscaler, a 60Hz native refresh rate, UHD Mastering Engine, WiFi and full access to Smart apps with webOS 3.0.

You can see a full breakdown of all specs above in the handy chart that we have picked out for you. This is a brand new LG 4K TV selling at Best Buy this month, so currently there are no other LG 50UH5530 4K TV reviews to read yet.

With so many misleading or confusing terms though regarding HDR and 4K, we just wanted to point out that this may not be the TV you are after to truly take advantage of the PS4 Pro or Xbox One S.

Feel free to add additional information or ask any questions about this model in the discussion section below. Is this still extremely tempting at $400?
