Lenovo LePad becomes Skylight when it appears Stateside

Lenovo are one of many companies who have brought out a tablet they hope to compete against the iPad with. The Lenovo LePad was announced last month and is expected out sometime in June. Today we have news that the new device has appeared at the FCC in the US under a different identity, the Skylight

The so called Skylight was spotted at the FCC when a user manual for the tablet appeared, offering details on the specs of the Lenovo device. Some of the features listed are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 2mp camera, Android 2.2, a Snapdragon processor and boasts a 1280 x 800 resolution on a 10.1” display.

Shane McGlaun, who wrote an article at Slashgear also reporting this news, says according to their source from Netbooknews, the Skylight will be equipped with Android Honeycomb despite being noted as running Android 2.2. They say this could be the reason for the delay.

For more details on the Lenovo LePad or Skylight, you can read the full article at Slashgear where Shane says he doesn’t think this tablet will be able to take on the might of the iPad 2. What do you think? Do you agree with Shane? Let us know in the comments below.
