Leaked MacBook Air, Retina Pro – Potential WWDC hardware highlight

There seems to be growing evidence that there will be a MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Retina refresh next Monday, which is expected to be the potential hardware highlight for WWDC 2013. Although, it’s highly likely that Apple may only refresh the one model.

9to5Mac reports that some leaked part codes points to some imminent Apple products, and the most likely is the MacBook line, and although we have been hoping for a MacBook Air and Pro refresh, these codes may point to the same model, but different sizes and varying hardware, such as RAM, storage etc.

Having said that, MacBook Air and Pro levels are running low and therefore could point to both models receiving a refresh for 2013. Whenever inventory is constrained it’s usually a good indication that Apple is about to update their models, just as we’ve seen in the past.

If Apple were to upgrade the Air, then there’s a small chance that it could come with a Retina display, although that’s highly unlikely. However, its more than likely going to come with the new Haswell processor, as might the Pro, which could help improve battery life even further.

Having said that, there have also been rumors that the Mac Mini and Mac Pro could also be refreshed for 2013, and so could make a showing during the WWDC keynote on Monday.

If Apple were to announce new products on Monday, then it will most likely be released that day, so expect the Apple store to go down on June 10, 2013. However, don’t expect these new notebooks and/or Mac Mini and Mac pro to come pre-installed with OS X 10.9, as this will not be released until late July, going by the previous update.
