Lamborghini Jota: Testing at Nurburgring

Lamborghini made itself know at the recent Paris Motor Show by unveiling its new Sesto Elemento Concept. But never a company to do things by half the auto manufacturer also gave us a glimpse of the replacement to the Murcielago, named the Jota.

At the start of September we reported on the Murcielago’s replacement and commented about its new 7.0-litre V12 pushing out an almighty 700-720bhp. Said to reach 100 mph in just 6.0 seconds with 62 mph coming up in half that time, this sort of acceleration can be in part down to the liberal use of carbon fibre and a carbon composite chassis.

Since the Paris show the Jota has been busy testing at Germany’s famous Nurburgring race track. Video footage has caught the Lambo under heavy disguise going through its paces, and by the looks of the clips all is good. Grip seems to be endless, reports suggest that the Jota will incorporate Lamborghini’s four-wheel-drive system. What’s certain is that sound coming from its big V12 is intoxicating.

Now while there hasn’t been a confirmed release date for the crazy Sesto Elemento, the Jota is highly likely to appear at Geneva’s 2011 Motor Show. To take a look at the Jota around the Ring, check out Eurocarblog and give us your opinions on the Murcielago’s successor.
