Lack of Droid Bionic release information, Verizon motives a mystery

We recently informed you that the ultra in-demand Droid Bionic handset on Verizon could be launching next month in time for Independance Day come early July. However, the key word here is could, as Verizon continue to sit back at the expense of sheer consumer frustration.

We all know that the device received an initial delay, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that both Verizon and Motorola are refusing to drop any sort of official information on the device. We’d go as far to say that the Droid Bionic is probably the most anticipated Android handset in history after the Incredible, but the lack of information on Verizon’s part is nothing short of mindboggling.

Do they really want to risk losing customers to AT&T and Sprint by continuing this tactic of ‘staying silent until the very last minute’? There will be a large group of consumers who will stay faithful to Big Red and purchase the handset no matter what, but we think there’s an equal amount of consumers who are thinking ‘enough is enough’ and are now considering their options in the smartphone market.

We’ve touched upon this before, but the very fact that there has been no brief release updates on the handset leads us to believe that they may be having some serious hardware problems with the device and that the reason they continue to alienate customers with a lack of information is that the handset is simply not ready for release yet.

Is this due to battery life and processor concerns due to the addition of a 4G LTE radio? – Nobody knows for sure, but they will be losing customers by the day if they continue with these silent tactics.
