L.A. Noire coming to PC after all: Rockstar confirms

When video game developer Rockstar Games first announced the hugely popular L.A. Noire game, everyone was under the impression that it was going to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. However, it was later revealed that the game would also be heading to the Xbox 360. This was followed by even more confusion, after people started asking whether or not the game would be launched for the PC and Mac as well.

As we mentioned in a previous article back in May, the question was swiftly answered, when Rockstar announced that they had no plans at that stage to launch PC or Mac versions of the game. In other words, the developer wasn’t ruling out PC / Mac versions completely. The article prompted some of our readers to respond, with many saying that they were disappointed that it wasn’t being released on PC or Mac.

Well it now looks as though Rockstar Games and Team Bondi have listened to the pleas of PC gamers, as according to a recent article by John Lomaga over at, they have just confirmed that the hit crime drama game is coming to the PC after all. There is a little bit of bad news along with the good news however, as the PC version — which will offer gamers a 3D mode — won’t be arriving until sometime in the fall.

The PC version of L.A. Noire — which is developed by Rockstar Leeds — will be able to run on a wide range of computers and will feature customization, including gamepad functionality and keyboard remapping. The PC version will also come with improved graphical enhancements and increased fidelity. The 3D support will give gamers an even greater sense of immersion and interaction with 1940s Los Angeles.

Taking on the role of Detective Cole Phelps, players are tasked with searching for clues, chasing down criminals and interrogating suspects. The L.A. Noire game has become extremely successful since it was first released back in May, and has shipped around 4 million copies worldwide so far. In fact, the L.A. Noire game stayed at the top of the UK games chart for three consecutive weeks.

Are you pleased to hear that the L.A. Noire game is now coming to the PC?
