It’s a shame when companies known for making great cameras in the past fall from grace in that field, and so try to follow others and branch out. We have seen so many companies enter the smartphone market, and while some have been successful, others have not, and so it was no surprise when Kodak wanted to do the same a couple of years ago.
Things have not gone the way the company had hoped, although better than what most people expected, and so it’s no surprise to learn that a new model was coming, which will be available for purchase this week. The name of that smartphone is Kodak Ektra, and will finally be released on December 9, so this Friday.
We already knew about the Ektra smartphone, seeng as though it was announced in October, but several other details were missing at the time, such as its release date.
While its specs of a 5-inch HD display, a Helio X20 processor, 3GB of Ram, 32GB storage, a 3,000mAh battery and also a 21-megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus, 4K recording and 13MP front-facing camera sounds decent enough, what concerns us is the outdated design, as it does remind us of the LG Viewty that was released back in 2007.
Another concern is its release, as it will only be made available in Germany at first, with no details as to its UK or US release. In terms of price, it will be €499.
