Kobo Aura One Vs Kindle Oasis highlights missing feature

If you were on the lookout for a decent e-reader, then you might want to consider a new Kindle Oasis alternative, and that is the Kobo Aura One. This latest device certainly has some decent features, one of which does one-up the Oasis, and so might be worth your consideration.

Once there is a full Kobo Aura One Vs Kindle Oasis comparison video you will notice one missing feature with the latter, which could just come back to haunt Amazon, and that is the fact the former e-reader is waterproof, making it perfect for reading by the pool without the fear of being splashed, or even better, actually reading with the Aura One in the pool itself.

New Kindle Oasis rival

In terms of main specs and features, the Kobo Aura One sports a 7.8 inch display, which we have already established is waterproof. Its touchscreen is a HD Carta E Ink and has a 1872 x 1404 resolution with 300 dpi. There’s 8 GB on-board memory, which is enough to store up to 6,000 eBooks. Its ComfortLight PRO technology helps to reduce blue-light exposure, which protects your eyes for the best nighttime reading experience. TypeGenius offers 11 different fonts with over 50 font styles, along with exclusive font weight and sharpness settings.

Other notable features are Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro USB, up to one-month battery life and 14 file formats supported. The price of the Kobo Aura One is $230, which is $60 cheaper than the Kindle Oasis. Its release date is September the 6th.

Compare this to the Amazon’s offering with a 6-inch display, 300 ppi, touchscreen plus Page turn buttons, built-in light, Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + free 3G, and also up to several months of battery life.

So on paper, the Aura One from Kobo does look the better option.
