Kingdom Hearts 3 story tie-in with Kingdom Hearts 2.8

It turns out that the Kingdom Hearts 2.9 leaks prior to TGS were correct, sort of. Square-Enix has now confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 2.8 is on the way and that it will serve as a direct prequel to Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is the official name and it looks like it may be an exclusive on PS4 at this point – we are waiting to confirm.

The game will comprise of three main parts, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage.

The first game is actually a remake of a 3DS title, while Birth by Sleep 0.2 is going to be the one that sets fans up for events that will take place in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Right away, we can see that many fans are confused with the bizarre titles and numberings for the game and have been having their best shot at ‘predictions’ for Kingdom Hearts 2.9 title names.

The Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 PS4 release date has been set for 2016 – no specific release date yet but that piece of information could be coming when TGS starts for real on September 17.

We know that Square-Enix will also be dropping a Kingdom Hearts 2.8 trailer later this week. What is your reaction to this collection PS4 owners, will you be buying it or not?
