Kingdom Hearts 3 release date countdown at D23

We could be just hours away from finally seeing Square-Enix announce a Kingdom Hearts 3 release date at Japan D23 Expo 2015 this week.

The event takes place on Wednesday November 3 at 1pm local time in Japan. We have been promised new Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay at the very least, but obviously fans are hoping to see that release date at the end of a new KH3 trailer as well.

It has already been a significant period of waiting for the date to be finalized so it is long overdue. The hype seems to be incredibly high for KH3 compared to previous games in the series, with some even saying that they will buy a new PS4 console just for KH3.

The ideal scenario would be for Square-Enix to just give the fans what they want this time. That is a new Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay trailer with actual in-game footage running on the PS4.

Secondly, a look at one of the new worlds announced – Big Hero 6 for example would a good way to secure some more orders right after viewing.

Then after that, a fade to black with the release date being revealed as Spring 2016 rather than end 2016 as some fans are fearing.

Do you think the countdown is now on to the KH3 release date at Japan D23 2015 this week, or do you think Square-Enix will delay further and just give us another cutscene trailer to enjoy?

Leave your predictions below as there is not long to go – information on a potential live stream for the event here.
